A FB post  by Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty introducing my brokerage move: Some major wow for your Wednesday: Darlene Rosen has joined North Texas’ finest luxury brokerage! This interior-design and architecture major specializes in historic homes, so it’s no wonder she fell in love with Junius Heights in East Dallas, and now lives in a quaint 1931 Craftsman-style bungalow with her husband, daughter and poodle. A Dallas resident since 1989, Darlene got her real estate license in 2004 and, before that, had a successful career working for several Fortune 500 companies. Her strong skills in client management and negotiating have translated beautifully to her work in real estate — which is why she has countless happy clients, whether they have bought or sold. In her rare time off, Darlene loves to read, hike and cook — and give back to North Texas. She is the founder of the DTX Driven Women Network and currently serves as a Girl Scout patrol leader, Spanish hotline volun

Adopt this motto.  Share it with your friends.  It makes life a tiny bit easier.   I like to make decisions when I’m not clear based on: If it’s not a “Hell Yeah,” it’s a "No". I thought this was BRILLIANT when I first heard an author on NPR say it.   If it’s not a “Hell Yeah,” it’s a "No". I do not remember his name, please comment if you know whom I'm speaking of.  Years ago this was my motto for that particular year (now it’s a saying I live by), since first used it’s become a super popular saying amongst my friends.  One may find themselves in a pickle and then your friend well ask you, “is it hell yeah?”  You look at them surprised, because in the heat of the moment you forgot your own motto.  You’re then so grateful to them for asking, it’s like you just heard it for the first time.  If it’s not a “Hell Yeah,” it’s a "No"… can be used on big decisions and small decisions. Once you start whispering it to yourself when you’re a bit indecisive you

This Month's Recipe comes from a lovely Client + Friend, Melinda Johnson.  Since purchasing their home the Johnson's have remodeled their bathrooms and added a laundry/mudroom combo.  Amazing.  Looks beautiful.   After touring the newly renovated areas Melinda served a lovely breakfast: chamay coffee, petite pumpkin muffins, petite Green Chile Quiche & fruit.     Green Chile Crustless Quiche Green Chile Quiche 1/4 cup butter (4 tbsp) 5 eggs 4 oz diced green chiles 1 cup cottage cheese 8 oz jack cheese 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 cup flour Melt butter, cool butter before adding to eggs.  Beat eggs, add:  green chiles, cottage cheese, jack cheese.  Blend well.  Add baking powder and flour.  Blend well.  Pour in buttered/oil sparyed 8" square or round pie pan.  Bake at 350F for 45 minutes.  Divine! *optional...I added a hand full for broken tortilla chips right before baking.

A Family Summer Lunch

Every Summer I think to myself  'grill/cook outdoors & concentrate on minimal to no cook meals indoor'.    I'm off to a good start.  We have been grilling more than ever on the Memphis Wood Fire Grill (my esposo, Dave, acquires new dealers for this company). The more meals that can be prepared outdoors the better.  Dave will grill on Sundays the protein that we will be eating the next 3-4 days. First time to entertain with all cold foods.  I loved it! A Family Summer Lunch.  Guest of Honor:   Tia Rosita, El Paso, TX .  Dave grilled two whole chickens  seasoned with a Himalayan Salt Rub, once cooled I deboned them and made 2 chicken salads. One regular chicken salad the other with cranberries.  A cold lunch was divine for a hot summer day.
